Welcome

Congratulations on getting engaged. It’s a huge deal and I’m excited for you.

I’m so pleased that you’ve made it here. Somewhere along the way one of my pictures has grabbed you and that’s enormously gratifying.

I feel so lucky to be able to photograph weddings. They can be serious and full of meaning, or they can be fun and silly and just a simple good time. But usually they’re both, and so much more. And that’s part of what makes them so fun to shoot.

Everywhere you look something’s happening. Some of life’s milestone moments, right there next to those seemingly insignificant moments. All equally important. All part of your story.

My job is to capture that story with honesty and heart. To stand back and take it all in as it unfolds, so that you can look back and enjoy it for years to come.

About Me

I’ve been photographing weddings since 2017. Right from the start I was in love with the mayhem and excitement and energy of a wedding day. They have everything a photographer could want: families, high emotion, drama, children falling down, bad dancing, and above all, a lot of love.

And the crazier they get the more there is to shoot. I just stand back, keep my eyes up, and capture it all as it unfolds.

I’m well and truly hooked.

When I’m not photographing weddings I’m usually spending time with my wife Bron and our daughter Lucie at home in Melbourne. I’m a musician and I used to teach music in a local primary school. I love going running (although if you saw me on a run you might not immediately recognise it as ‘running’) and when I’m not doing any of that stuff I’m probably quietly wandering around the city with my little camera, looking for another story to tell.

Speaking of other stories, check these out…

My Approach

Maybe you’ve already got an idea of how I work just from my pictures. They’re busy, full, and sometimes a bit chaotic. Just like a wedding. I think that comes from my tendency to sit back and watch, take it all in, and find the pictures that are already there.

I’m inspired by the work of photojournalists, street, and documentary photographers. That helps inform the way I capture a wedding. I suppose it’s an approach that comes naturally, and I’ve found it really helps to settle those camera-shy jitters that most of us have.

I also happen to think it’s where the best pictures are found.

I won’t take you away from your friends and family for an hour and make you pose awkwardly and kiss on command. That’s just not really how I like to work, and honestly, they’re not really the pictures I like to make.

For real, relax. I want you to enjoy your wedding and the time with your brilliant family and friends. That’s what weddings are for. You can leave it to me to capture it all carefully, with honesty and heart.
